Simpulse kicks of the RADIS collaborative R&D project

January 2016

Simpulse kicks off the RADIS collaborative R&D project with partners Alcatel-Lucent Bell Labs France, Orange, EURECOM and Eblink.

The objective of the project is to optimize the use of Fronthaul network to significantly improve Cloud Radio Access Networks (C-RAN). The partners will develop a new version of the CPRI interface based on Ethernet and to replace the current specialized electronics by a standard server. Other developments include the new distribution of the PHY-layer functions and implementation of frequency and temporal synchronisation. Simpulse contribues to the project by moving the digital signal processing functions from the Baseband Units to the Remote Radio Heads.
